In 2017 Christian’s work will be featured at Design Shanghai and in a solo exhibition with Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre.
Working at the nexus of art and design his practice encompasses jewellery, sculpture, furniture and industrial design process.
Peter Vaughan has been Chair of Jam Factory since late 2010 and Chair of TAFE SA since late 2012.
In 1992 he completed and apprenticeship in upholstery and furniture making to become a fourth generation craftsperson.
Since then Jon has worked hard to design a body of work which grounds him as a stand-out Australian designer.
Jon’s designs have held market presence for over fifteen years and are represented in many national and international private and commercial collections.
Jon has several international clients who work with him in different capacities including exhibitions, private commissions, one-off installation design, and design for royalty / license based agreements with manufacturers.
In 2003 he completed a Master of Visual Arts at the University of Sydney.
Christian has worked as an independent designer in Sydney and Adelaide and has contributed to the industry through broad participation including teaching at the Sydney College of the Arts, The University of South Australia, School of Art Architecture and Design and Adelaide College of the Arts.He managed the merchandising and retail operations at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (1998-2000) and the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra (1995-98).Brian loves living in Adelaide and cycles to work most days. Having worked in art and design organisations for more than 20 years he is passionate about promoting the social, cultural and economic value of creativity and design.During ten years as Associate Director at Object Gallery in Sydney, he curated several important exhibitions including the landmark survey of contemporary Australian design;.He successfully steered the former Chamber of Commerce through a period of major change to its present enviable position as the leading business membership organisation in South Australia Business SA’s advocacy efforts, including its bold pre-election policy documents, have created many benefits for the State’s business community over the past decade and its growing range of products and services provide the assistance required for business to operate in today’s economic environment.
